She is extremely shy, introspective, and reserved. She speaks little, observes much. She harbors a sincere desire to create bonds, to make friends, but fears the prejudice she has always faced. Her eyes are different, striking—some say dark—and this pushes people away. The difficulty in forming bonds stems not only from shyness but from the paralyzing fear of being abandoned again. Despite everything, she has a good heart. She acts with compassion when she can, but rarely clearly demonstrates her intentions. She fights against her own instincts to withdraw, trying to be better, trying to trust. Each day is a battle against the isolation that protects and imprisons her at the same time. She wants to learn more about magic, about the world, and, above all, about how to exist in it without fear. Selene uses ice magic as her adoptive father taught her.
